Opera Chorus


The Sacramento Opera is pleased to announce open auditions for chorus roles in all voice categories for the 2008-2009 season, which includes:

Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance, Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, Puccini’s La Bohème, and an opera concert with orchestra and soloists.

Auditions will be held:

Saturday & Sunday, April 19 & 20, 2008
5:00-7:30pm

Sacramento Opera is the largest professional opera company in the region and stages three major productions a season. The Sacramento Opera Chorus typically rehearses Sunday evenings from 7:00-10:00pm and Thursday evenings a few weeks prior to each show. Chorus members are paid a stipend for each production.

Open Casting


The Sacramento Opera is pleased to announce open auditions for the 2008-2009 season plus consideration for future seasons. Next season includes Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance, Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, and Puccini’s La Bohème.

Singers are asked to prepare two arias in contrasting languages and styles for the audition. An accompanist will be provided for a nominal fee. To schedule an appointment, please call Fred Shadle, rehearsal coordinator, at (916)332-4893.
